Guys, I’m over the moon: I just signed the deal on my very first cookbook. Cue the elated screaming!
It’s called Uncomplicated, and the wonderful people at Penguin Random House are going to publish it in the fall of 2018. I know that seems like eons away, but my manuscript is due on April 1, 2017 so I’ve gotta light a fire under this tush and get writing and developing.
The book is 130 of my favourite easy, fun and delicious recipes — exactly what I cook at home.
The bulk of the book is recipes for easy dinners for people who want to cook at home: meal-sized soups and salads, chicken, beef, lamb and pork, fish, a big section on vegetarian meals, as well as (my fave) pasta. I’m also going to share some of my favourite entertaining recipes, ones that can be made in advance. And yes, there will be cocktails and a nice big baking section filled with lots of easy but spectacular sweets and treats.
I’ve been cooking professionally for well over 20 years, so I know every step you can skip, every hack, trick and insider tip that can still get you to delicious in less time and with less heartache. Oh, and with fewer dirty dishes! I’m so excited to share this all with you in book form.
I have the most extraordinary artistic team for this baby: photographers Alyssa Wodabek and Chris Sue-Chu and food stylist Melanie Stuparyk (I know, can you even believe it?!). My editor is Andrea Magyar, whom I’ve been dreaming about working with for ages. Of course my best friend Katie Dupuis will be my Coach Taylor, setting my timelines and top-editing all my babbling.
But what can you do? Stay tuned: Soon I’ll be assembling a group of volunteer home testers to help iron out all the kinks, so if you’d like to join in, watch this space. I’ll be posting my progress on Facebook and Instagram so keep on clicking and liking.
Ok, I gotta get into the kitchen, I’ve got 130 recipes to develop…cue the screaming!
I’m a Penguin Random House author!!!
